Exclusive interview with: Jon Juste. Thanks for taking the time out to do the interview.

First up, what's with the name? 

Jon Juste. It literaly means 'Just Jon 'which is just what you get when you hear me play. No gimmicks, no silly ghetto name, no hype....Just me.

Moving on then, what's your history with music/DJing etc? 

I started Djing in 1999 as a hobbie after buying a second hand pair of old Kam belt drive decks and the rest is history.

What kit are you using? 

Ableton 7 with Akai LPD8 and X-Session UC-17 midi controllers.

Why are you using it? 

They are really lightweight and compact, ideal for carrying to and from gigs. They are also extremely customisable so I can map them to my specific needs with tailor made FX and functions in ableton.

Anything we need to get our hands on? 

Yes, ableton is a must for any DJ, its the future.

What's floating your boat musically at the moment? 

I've been listening to a lot of Nu disco lately. More specifically a lot of material remixed by Tensnake and Dimitri from Paris.

Best track of the year so far?

For me its Hungry for the power (Jamie Jones remix) -by Azari & III. Its dope!

Any albums we should be listening to?

Knights of the Playboy Mansion.

What gigs have you got coming up? 

I've currently got a residency that I share with another DJ - Hu Kares at Greenlands Vodka bar, Colchester.

Top 3 all time tracks?

Xpander - Sasha, Something About us - Daft Punk, Tenshi - Gouryella.
